Celebration of the Jubilee Year of Mercy

My dear brethren,

Below is an invitation to CFCFFL to the Opening Celebration ushering in the Jubilee Year of Mercy.

Where: St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church (Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Chicago) 1327 N. Noble Chicago, IL 60642
When: Sunday December 6, 2015
Time:  2-5pm

This is truly exciting!  Advent is here!

What better way to start this holy season than prepare our hearts to God's Divine Mercy and Love and join other brethren in Christ to give homage to Him who is source of all that is good.  This event is in preparation for the special Jubilee Year of Mercy which begins this Dec 8th, the feast of the Immaculate Conception and the 50th anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council.  It will close on Nov 20, 2016, the feast of Christ the King.

Let's be aware how truly spiritually powerful this year will be - a rare opportunity given to us by Pope Francis to obtain plenary indulgence EVERYDAY if we fulfill all the requirements (http://www.thedivinemercy.org/jubilee/thebasics/indulgence.php),  as referred to by him in the official Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy  (http://www.news.va/en/news/pope-francis-presents-bull-of-indiction-of-jubilee)

Imagine plenary indulgence for those who have gone before us, especially  our loved ones!  The ultimate gift we could ever give to them - eternal life in Heaven!!

Doubly meaningful for us in CFCFFL because our 2016 theme is 'Rich in Mercy' taken from Ephesians 2:4.

With all that said, I hope that this will give us all an impetus to accept this invitation to spend a couple of hours on Sunday, December 6, at 2:00pm.  The Lord always gives us opportunities for grace.  Let us recognize and take this blessed opportunity being extended to us.  Let us not miss out on this one - this year could prove to be a truly great jubilee if we prepare our hearts for Jesus and the abundant blessings He wants to pour upon each one of us and to our community.

If you accept this invitation and plan to come, it would be nice if you could bring a snack plate to share.  May I request the Chapter Servants to ensure this invitation is extended to all and coordinate transportation, if need be.  Feel free to bring family and friends (make this an advent activity for family).

If you have any questions or need clarification, feel free to email me.

Thank you, brothers and sisters.  See you there (day after our Christmas party)!

margie
